October's Globe
The dawn's fading in over England,
Tokyo will be brilliant blue;
Are we still growing together,
Though I left Japan too soon?
Are you still smiling in Paris,
The way you did in our London room?
I want to hold you so tightly,
As close as you wanted to be,
At Gatwick in September;
Or curled up in bed against me.
I had the world at my feet, and tripped
Over it, but I'm getting off the floor.
I'll work, sleep, study and exercise,
And I'm ready to be yours.
