"My son, my son,"
Is the battle cry
She wanted him to get married
Now she wonders why.
The wife is a distraction
She takes away her share of love
Why did she want him to get a girl
When she was the only deserving woman from heavens above
She brought him up with love and care
Sacrificed her health to see his smile
She now wants returns and unquestioned loyalty
It's his turn to walk the extra mile.
He was her biggest investment
The reason she woke up in the morning all her days
Now he wanted to spend his free time with someone else
And live life according to her fun, new ways.
She ignored her husband, she ignored her friends
She wanted dedication from one person alone
And he had found someone new to play with
His wife was more precious to him than his shiny new phone.
She went ballistic and screamed her angst
One day when she could take it no more
They had seen it coming, there'd been something in the air
It was a time of decision making for these four.
The daughter-in-law had a sad look in her eye
The son was torn between everyone he loved in life
The husband looked smug, his wife was right
He too had felt ignored by his son after the wife.
The young girl's aura changed
The look of steely determination was evident in her
"You can keep your son," she said at last
And walked away, leaving the boy's world in a blur.
