Dripping

A scar scattered over familiar flesh.
So simple yet so deep,
Deep beneath the surface,
Beneath crimson oceans where your soul swims.
Beneath a torn and shredded gap
Where once something beat.
Dripping, dripping down below you¦
You feel your core begin to uncurl,
A pierce of madness,
And you flow down the drain.
Dripping, dripping¦
Lowering your eyes you begin to despise
What you thought it was you saw.
A piece of your heart '
what was once your heart '
has just turned to dust on the floor.
Footsteps leaking, footsteps dripping¦
Footsteps caked in what once was yours.
Who has been standing on you?
Swirling this mess all around you?
We believe, my friend, it was you.
Stay your hand. You will move no more.
We believe, my friend, it was you.
There's blood on the carpet. There's a knife at your door.
We believe, my friend, it was you.
Release your weapons, lay down your war¦
We knew all along it was you.
