Once an evil wizard called Gorth turned his kind brother Axion into a machine man.
And Axion had incredible strength and power; could lift up a house with one hand; could run at the speed of lightning; could leap across canyons; could do anything.
But inspite of his great power Axion was a slave; unable to disobey his brother.
And Gorth ordered Axion to do terrible acts of evil; to kill innocent people; to terrorize people into submitting to Gorths will and punish, brutally those who tried to fight back.
And because of Axions might, Gorth became a powerful ruler.
But inspite of all the terrible things that Axion was forced to do, within his body of steel there still beat a kind human heart and that heart ached constantly with sadness.
He knew that people hated him; thought of him as just as evil as his brother and inside his heart he longed,
"If only they knew I was a slave just like them. That I hate doing evil but that I have no choice because my brother controls me".
But then, one day, Axion was sent to a village that hadn't paid taxes to his brother to intimidate them and in that village there lived a girl called Naria with a very special power.
Narias power was to feel the emmotion that a person or animal was feeling. She could even tell if a flower or tree was sad or afraid.
And when Axion, flying through the air, descended into the village, Naria immediately sensed his sadness and walking up to him, unafraid, placed her hand upon his heart.
"I feel such terrible, deep sadness within you", she said.
But the other villagers, seeing this, dragged her away from him.
"Get away from it Naria", they said, trying to protect her, "Don't you know what that is. Its Gorths machine. Its dangerous, evil"
"No", said Naria, struggling to break free of them, "Theres something human still alive inside it. It needs help. It needs love".
But the other villagers wouldn't listen and then Axion said to them,
"People of this village. Gorth has commanded you to pay taxes to him. Why have you not paid him?"
"Because we have no money to pay him", pleaded the headman of the village, "We don't even have money to feed and clothe our own children because Gorth takes it all".
"Gorth does not accept excuses", said Axion, "As punishment and an example to others who would disobey Gorths will , your village will be destroyed".
But Naria, rushing towards the steel man, threw her arms around him.
"Please", she begged, "I know this is not you. There is something good inside you. Something human. I can feel it".
Axion looked down at the girl and all the villagers watching were sure that the metal man would kill her but then, to their amazement, instead tears started to roll from his eyes.
"Look", said one of the villagers, "Look at its face. The monster is crying".
"I knew it", said Naria, smiling up at him, "I knew you had a heart".
But then Axion, pushing her away, flew off.
He flew back to the castle of his brother.
He had never felt anything within him as strong as the feeling he felt at that moment for all he could do was think about Naria.
When he returned to the castle, however, his brother asked him,
"Did you destroy the village as I ordered you?".
Axion shook his head.
"No", he said.
"What?", shouted his brother angrilly, "Why not?".
"Because I could not", replied Axion.
Gorth placed a hand upon Axions heart, peering into the memories that were kept there and saw the face of Naria.
"So a woman has bewitched you", said Gorth, "Well I can easily solve that".
"No", said Axion, seizing him by his wrist, "You will not harm her".
But Gorth used his magic to place manacles and chains upon Axion.
"Those chains were made to be equal to you in strength", said Gorth, watching as Axion struggled to break free, "You will not break them and while you are chained up here I will get rid of this girl".
Then his brother, as fast as lightning, flew out of a window.
But Gorth had only built his chains to resist the strength that was in Axions steel body; not the power of love that was in his heart and with that extra strength the chains could not hold him and, ripping them out of the ground, he flew after his brother.
And when he found him, his Brother had turned himself into a dragon and was about to devour Naria
But swinging both his arms, Axion wrapped the chains that his brother had manacled to them around the dragons throat and, pulling hard upon them, choked and killed the beast.
Then, his brother dead, Axion descended infront of Naria.
And this time, when Naria touched his heart she felt the love that was burning for her inside of it.
And feeling the same way, she embraced the man of steel and kissed him upon the lips.
When that happened, however, almost like ice melting with the touch of flame, Axion began to change as Narias kiss and the love in her heart broke the spell that Axions brother had placed upon him and, suddenly, rather than a machine standing before her, Naria saw a young, handsome and human man.
After that, Axion and Naria were married and though he did not wish to be a king; the people now chose him to be their king because they knew that he was kinder and fairer than his brutal brother but just as strong and then he and Naria lived happily ever after.
