Tomorrow is for fools;
Today the spring is here;
the sun’s a glistering jewel
in the heavens bright and clear;
there’s laughter on the breeze
and blossoms fill the bough;
birds sing in all the trees
the pretty, happy song of now
and we all should be rejoicing;
let no sadness in your hearts;
hear natures cheerful voice sing
and, of this glad time, be a part.

Thank you to whoever thought this worthy of a cherry. I often think that the quality of my writing has declined severely since I started on ABCtales and begin to feel almost embarassed by it but then I get a cherry and its a massive boost to my confidence.

Thanks, Hoalarg1 I spend almost every minute of the day trying to think of ideas. Poems have never just come to me, they're always the result of arduous brainwracking, reading poems by other poets, researching (usually via the internet) and trying to be observant of things in my environment in the hope that I'll notice something interesting. I don't think I could just sit and wait for inspiration because, for me, writing is like an obsession; its integral to who I am as a person and I don't think I could ever be happy if I wasn't writing or thinking about writing. Glad you enjoyed it.
