I am a flower

I am a little seed
that’s lying in the earth;
I have so many needs
to bring about my birth.

Now I am germinating;
my shoot begins to grow
and push above the surface
as my long roots sink below.

I am a seedling growing;
my leaves starting to form
soon I’ll have petals flowing
out, feeling sun bright and warm.

I’m being pollinated
by a furry bumble bee
soon seeds will be created
and be scattered, then you’ll see
a thousand other flowers,
small and dainty
just like me.
