Look eastward, heart of sorrow.
See that the darkness cannot hold
back that brave phalanx of the light
that brandishes bright spears of gold.
See how the fearsome foe of winter
that forbids the spring to shine
is overthrown by gentle fingers
of violet and celandine.
Have courage, hope and patience.
Each teary season soon shall pass,
then, like April and the light of dawn,
your brighter days shall come at last.

This is beautiful. What lovely rich words, we're barely out of summer and I can't wait for the next one. I hate winter.

I loved it too, John. I
I loved it too, John. I can’t remember if I’ve read any of your poetry before as I generally associate you with the writing of Fairy Tales. This is very good, and I echo all the above plaudits. Deserves to be cherried. Beauty, mate.

PS: And now pleased to see it has been cherried.
