The hand that scattered gold across the night
placed, in her eyes, two gemstones shining bright
and, taking tincture from the setting sun,
made her lips glow that same flaming crimson;
plucking only the purest and most fair
of summer rays it made her golden hair.
Sadly she loves a rugby playing twit
because, in her own words, he is ‘Well fit’.

Just wanted to add my
Just wanted to add my applause really. Very clever play on romantic poetry, the final couplet is great and feels like a slap in the face to stop someone mooning over a beauty out of reach.
