Save The Red Squirrel

Scarlet squirrel;

fire of virile

life; leaping about like flame.

You raise passions

that your ashen

coloured cousins cannot claim.

For that fire

to just die out;

that would be a dire shame.

We’d be poorer,

for our forests

and woods wouldn’t be the same.

Without that squirrel;

the one that we’re all

familiar with; the one of fame.

And the red squirrel

could disappear all

together if we don’t aim

To kill and clear all

the grey squirrels

out, for they’re the ones to blame.

Save the red squirrel

before they’re all

gone and nothing but a name.
