One day, Simon the Friendly spaceman was in the silver dome where he lived and was testing out his new fix-it machine.
He pointed his fixit machine at a broken vase and pushed a button and all the pieces of the broken vase leapt up and glued themselves back together; he pointed it at a teddy bear whose leg had come off and the leg hopped back onto the teddy and stitched itself in place and even when he pointed it at a jigsaw puzzle that he had never been able to solve, all the pieces of the jigsaw came together showing a picture of a red space rocket whizzing through a starry sky.
"Isn't it good", he said to his Robot cat, Kay, "It can put anything back together again".
But then, Simon heard his doorbell ring and when he answered his front door, he saw a wizard dressed in black with a long black beard standing outside.
"Hello", said the wizard, "I was wondering if you could help me. You see I have something that is broken and I was wondering if you could help me fix it".
"What a stroke of luck", said Simon, "I just happen to have a machine that will fix anything".
"Really?", said the wizard, "That is fortunate. Well then perhaps your machine can fix this".
And, reaching into the pocket of his long black robes, the wizard took out what looked like a black diamond that was broken into two pieces.
"No problem", said Simon, picking up his fixit machine and pointing it at the broken diamond, "My fixit machine will fix your diamond in an instant".
And then, pressing a button on his machine he made the two halves of the broken diamond fix themselves back together.
The moment this happened, however, to his surprise, Simon heard a rumble of thunder from outside and then, even stranger, the wizards black diamond began to glow bright purple.
"Atlast", said the wizard, smiling with glee, "The two halves of the jewel of evilness and darkness have been reunited".
"Evilness and darkness?", asked Simon, becoming worried.
"Yes", said the wizard, "And I'm an evil wizard and thanks to you and your machine I will have power over all the purple planet of Peep, perhaps even the universe".
"Oh dear", said Simon.
"Yes", agreed the wizard, "And whats worse is, now I'm going to turn you into a frog".
Then the wizard pointed his finger at Simon that started to glow the same purple colour as the jewel and then, a beam of purple light shooting out of the wizards finger, it struck Simon and when it did, Simon started to turn into a small, green frog.
"Ribbit", croaked Simon, which meant in frog speak, "Oh no what have I done".
But then Simon saw the evil wizard get on his flying broom and fly away cackling.
"My fix-it machine has really got me into a fix", thought Simon, hopping about frantically,"What am I to do now?".
Just then, however, as he was looking at his machine he had a thought.
"If my machine can fix things", he thought, "Then, maybe, if I reverse the machine it will break them aswell, maybe even an evil wizards spell".
And so, hopping onto the machine, he pressed down upon its big reverse button with one of his webbed frog feet and then, all of a sudden, just like magic, there was a flash of purple light and Simon turned back from a frog into a Spaceman.
But then, picking up his robot cat, Kay, Simon rushed out of his silver dome like house and into his garage where they both hopped into his silver spacebuggy and when he and Kay had their seatbelts safely fastened, Simon pressed a big red ignition button on the control panel of his buggy and it roared out of the garage.
"We have to stop that evil Wizard, Kay", he said to his cat, "With the power of that magic jewel theres no telling what he'll do".
But then, suddenly, Simon and his cat both saw the wizard up ahead, flying upon his broom and looking back over his shoulder and seeing them behind him, the wizard pointed his purple jewel towards them.
"I don't know how you managed to turn yourself back from a frog into a spaceman but lets see you try and do the samething with your spacebuggy", said the wizard.
And, then suddenly a beam of purple light shot out of the wizards jewel and, striking Simons spacebuggy, it turned the vehicle into a giant green, leaping frog.
"Oh no", said Simon, struggling to hold onto the frog and his cat Kay as it hopped along, "My buggys become a froggy".
"Ha! Ha!", laughed the Wizard, "You'll never catch me now".
But, just then, Simon had an idea and talking to the frog he was riding on, he asked it,
"Mr Frog. Could you reach out with your long tongue and grab hold of the jewel that Wizard is holding?".
"Ribbit, ribbit", croaked the frog that, in frog speak, means, "I don't know but I'll try".
Then, taking aim, out of his mouth the frog shot his long, frog tongue and then, grabbing hold of the magic jewel, just like a frog catching a fly, he snatched it out of the wizards hand.
"Drat!", shouted the wizard, looking at his empty hand and realizing that he'd lost the magic jewel.
But then, taking hold of the jewel, Simon aimed it at the wizards broom and, in a flash of purple, the broom began whizzing round and round and round until, getting dizzy, the wizard fell off.
Fortunately, the wizards broom was not too far from the ground and he only crumpled his wizards pointy hat as he fell but then, using the power of the jewel to turn the frog he was riding on back into his space buggy, Simon turned around and went back home to his silver dome.
But then, when he had returned home, Simon looked at the magic jewel in his hand.
"Hmm?", he thought, "I wonder what it would be like to be the most powerful person on the whole planet".
And, as he thought this, the jewel started to glow again and his robot cat, Kay, looking up at him became worried that Simon might turn evil just like the wizard.
But then Simon shook his head.
"No, I'm happy just as I am. Living in my silver dome with my cat, Kay", he said.
Then, using the power of the jewel, he made it break itself in two.
"Some things are better off broken", he said and, smiling, Kay bleeped in agreement.
