Once, many moons and suns ago, a red sorceror from Egypt called T'Pah , in a flying black pyramid, travelled to the deserts of Arabia to visit a Blue Arabian wizard, Al-Ramoun that was his rival and hold a contest of wizardry.
"Each of us", said T'Pah, "Shall use our powers of summoning to destroy the other and the one who wins shall be known as the Sorceror of Sorcerors".
"Agreed", said the Arabic wizard, nodding his blue turbanned head.
So then the red sorceror, raising up his serpent staff, conjured up a plague of locusts to attack the blue sorceror.
But then the blue sorceror with his magic scimitar conjured up a whirling wind to carry the locusts away.
So then the blue sorceror conjured up a tidal wave to sweep the red sorceror away.
But the red sorceror conjured up a blizzard that froze the tidal wave and then, making the frozen wave levitate in the air, hurled it back towards the blue wizard to crush him.
Fortunately the blue wizard sent a firebolt flying towards the frozen wave that heated up the wave so much that it not only melted it but turned it into a harmless cloud of steam that drifted into the sky.
And their battle of conjuring went on all day like that until, finally, desperate to find something that the red sorceror could not destroy, the blue sorceror summoned a genie from the netherworld.
"Oh Djinn of Djinns, I summon you", he said, whirling his scimitar in the air, "Come and smite my enemy, the red wizard of Egypt".
Then a genie crawling out of a tiny crack in the ground started to grow and grow until, before long it had grown as gigantic as a mountain and had a voice louder than the thunder from a volcano and then, fiery lightning bolts shooting from its gigantic eyes and fingers, it struck down the red sorceror.
"I give in", cried the red sorceror to his opponent in a pleading voice, "You win. You are the stronger wizard. Now please, call off your genie before he kills me".
And so the blue wizard, satisfied with his victory, began speaking a spell to return the genie to the netherworld.
Unfortunately, while he was saying the spell, the genie turned around and struck him with a lightning bolt aswell.
"You imbecile", said the genie grinning like a rainbow of darkness, "Do you really think that either of you is as powerful as a genie?"
And, because he was not able to send the genie he had summoned back to the netherworld, the blue wizard, in a humbled voice, apologized to his Egyptian rival.
"I'm sorry", he said, "But it appears I am not as great a wizard as I thought I was and now I too will be smited by this genies power but it serves me right".
However, the Egyptian wizard only put a comforting hand upon the others shoulder and said,
"Not to worry my Arabic friend. Perhaps if neither of us, individually, can stop the genie then maybe we can together".
And so then, crossing staff and scimitar, they both began to speak a spell, one in Egyptian and one in Arabic and suddenly, in a brilliant flash of light, the red wizard and the blue wizard merged into one purple wizard.
"I am the Sorceror of Sorcerors", he cried.
And then, without even uttering a word, the purple wizard summoned up a mummified giant from beneath the desert sands to fight the genie.
And, seeing the giant mummy, at first the genie only burst into thunderous laughter but then, after striking the mummy with fire and thunderbolts; cannonballs and meteors, infact everything within the genies magical arsenal, the genie realized, with a grimace, that he could not kill the mummy because it was already dead.
Then the mummy, pulling miles of bandage from itself and spinning like a tornado around the genie, wrapped it up in a tight cocoon and, the sands below them turning to quicksand, it dragged the bound up genie back down to the inescapable prison of hell.
And when both the Mummy and the Genie were gone then the purple wizard split in two becoming the Red Wizard and The Blue Wizard again.
But they were not enemies anymore for they had both changed inside.
"Individually", admitted the Red Wizard in a humble voice, "We may be powerful but..."
"It is nothing", agreed the blue wizard, finishing his sentence, "Compared to how powerful we are when we work together".
