A few autumn leaves are like golden bells
amidst the crackle of bare branches
and the silence of the snow.
amidst the crackle of bare branches
and the silence of the snow.
But a big cloud passes like an oom-pah-pah
and the bright sky's an angelic voice of blue
and I feel I hear a glistening triangle in my heart
for I know the sun will soon
trumpet its fanfare in the skies
and all its sunbeams sound like mellow golden strings;
that, slowly,
the tip-toeing
notes of flowers will emerge;
that like the fluttering of flutes little birds will fill the air
and animals will run about with feet like timpani drums
then the whole, great orchestra of nature will begin
to play the very joyful symphony of Spring.
