1st Verse:
There’s a miser making money;
piling up his shining gold
but his world is never sunny
and his heart is always cold.
There’s a world beyond his window
which the miser cannot see
but we won't miss Springtime’s show
for we are far wiser than he.
Chorus:
Come and share in Nature’s treasures;
gather flowers; laugh and sing;
seasons of splendour and pleasure
‘cause Time flies on butterfly wings.
One day we’ll be old as Autumn
but now we’re young as Spring.
Catch the moments; be glad you’ve caught them
‘cause Time flies on butterfly wings.
2nd Verse:
There’s a poor boy who’s dressed in rags
with no shoes upon his feet;
got nothing much ‘bout which to brag;
struggles to find food to eat.
But he’s got the fields and flowers;
silver streams; blue skies; stars above
and, like us, youth’s golden hours
which he cherishes with love.
Chorus:
Come and share in Nature’s treasures;
gather flowers; laugh and sing;
seasons of splendour and pleasure
‘cause Time flies on butterfly wings.
One day we’ll be old as Autumn
but now we’re young as Spring.
Catch the moments; be glad you’ve caught them
‘cause Time flies on butterfly wings.
