One Halloween, long ago, a Witch named Wizilda started to make the perfect pumpkin pie.
But as she was about to begin her pie making there was a knock at her door and, opening it, she saw a werewolf at the door.
"Garr-garr", growled the werewolf pointing to a bald patch on its furry head.
Immediately, Wizilda knew that the werewolf needed some of her magic hair restoring potion and, instead of cooking up pumpkin in her cauldron, she used it to mix up some potion.
Then, when she poured the potion on the werewolfs head, magically the wolfs bald head was covered in fur and he went away wagging his tail.
But then Wizilda, emptying out all the potion from her cauldron and washing it, started again to make her perfect pumpkin pie.
However, before she could start making it, there was another knock at the door and, when she didn't answer it, the ghost who was at the door just passed through the door and into her house.
"Woooh! Woooh!", wailed the ghost, pointing to its ghost sheet that had a big tear in it.
And, immediately, Wizilda knew that the Ghosts sheet needed mending and so she got out her magic needle and thread and started to sew up the tear in his sheet.
And when the ghosts sheet was as good as new, he waved his ghost hand and, walking out of her house through the wall went happily upon his way.
But then Wizilda, putting away her magic needle and thread, started again to make her perfect pumpkin pie.
However, before she could start making it, there was yet another knock at her door and, opening it, she saw a flapping vampire bat.
"Eeek-eeek", squeaked the bat pointing to one of its pointy fangs with its bat wing.
Immediately, Wizilda knew that the vampire bat had a toothache and so she went to get some of her magic toothache remedy and, using a tooth brush, brushed the vampire bats teeth with it.
And, when she did, the vampire bats toothache went away and so it flapped out of the window happily.
But now Wizilda was so tired from curing werewolf baldness; from mending the ghosts sheet and taking away vampire bat toothache that she really didn't feel like making her perfect pumpkin pie anymore.
"Oh dear", she thought, glumly, "Halloween really won't be the same without pumpkin pie".
Just then however, at the door, Wizilda heard three knocks and, when she opened the door, she saw the werewolf, the ghost and the vampire bat all holding the biggest pumpkin pie she had ever seen.
They wanted to say thank you, you see, for all the kind things she had done to help them and so she invited them in and they all had a piece of the delicious pumpkin pie with cream.
"Why this is the perfectest pumpkin pie and the most perfect Halloween ever", said Wizilda and the werewolf, the ghost and the vampire bat all agreed.
