Another lockdown! Are we finally seeing the back of Trump? Though he seems to be dragging his feet like a chewing gum gone mouldy! What does that mean for the UK and USA trade deal? Most probably nothing much! Or should we sigh a relief for our greatest allies ought to be Europe anyhow.
I have finally dragged myself out of my depression so that another lesson is looming this evening. Ratios! Proportions. Is the dark clouds looming overhead really proportional to the human misery felt at the aftermath of [post] Covid era? Was my great depression ever proportional to the plague? No not really! I devise mathematical problems involving baking (reminscent of summer!) and marbles (not Elgin's lost marbles yet- thankfully)
To my friends and family, I say I stirred myself out of my great depression because my children are still at school. Secretly though, I am much vainer than that. After days of trying, I finally managed to book for a visit at V & A over the school holidays. Victorian costumes, middle eastern ceramics and carpets, a peacock exhibition! All senses gratified! My spirit is lifted!
Outside the sky is pearl grey. The last of the geraniums are clinging to life so that brushes of colour is a still a reminder of hope. Of plague free days to come. Exuberance of culture! Exuberance of life. Life in the capital. Light shows in London. Opera, Ballet. Christmas lights. Pantomime for my little ones. My heart belongs to London and London alone. No other city can match!

I enjoyed reading this. You
I enjoyed reading this. You casually set the scene and mark the world events of the moment, and I enjoyed the sparks of optimism and love of London in the last paragraph. Somehow it makes me feel more optimistic too. Thanks for that feeling!
