OLYMPIC FIRE
Prometheus stole the fire
From Mount Olympus
For us.
Mankind is enlightened.
Warmed in its apricot glow.
The aromas of cooked food,
Filling the lungs.
So the Olympic flame
Travels through the veins
Of chiseled muscles
For millenniums.
The fire to achieve
The best.
The pinnacle of success.
Yet we fail
As human beings.
Despite our success!
Self doubt creeps
A treacherous sneak.
An omnipotent worm
With infinite lavas
Embedded in our core.
Until we free ourselves
From the shackles of success.
Free are we again.
The fear of failure
Will no longer torment.
