In time's embrace, both beauty and the blight,
It holds no favor for the brave or meek;
With equal hand, it dims the boldest light,
And leaves the coward’s heart forever weak.
It pardons lies, a thief in shadows cast,
While truth, a fleeting ghost, may slip away;
Unravelled threads of moments gone so fast,
Injustice reigns where night devours the day.
Yet in this dance, both joy and sorrow meet,
For every fleeting breath, a chance to grow;
In time's cruel grasp, we find our hearts can beat,
And forge from pain a strength we did not know.
So let us walk this path of dusk and dawn,
For in this fleeting time, we are reborn.

An English sonnet, perfect
An English sonnet, perfect. I didn't know anybody still writes sonnets! By the way, are there any restrictions on syllables and rhythm in such a sonnet?
Rich of such beautiful descriptive language, "night devours the day", "both joy and sorrow meet" how deep in meaning, sophisticated!
Brilliant! Tom
