Blasphemy

Another piece by my late daughter, Julia (Overthetop1). I would like to make it clear that Julia was a very caring person, and this was, and is, in no way intended to cause offence to those who don't share her beliefs at the time this was written. Coral (seashore)

Infectious

Another of my late daughter Julia's writings (Overthetop1). A dark moment in a relationship.

The Return

Another piece by my daughter, Julia (Overthetop1). It's important to me that she lives on through her writing so I am wading through a fat file - some scribbles on backs of envelopes, others neatly typed. Not an easy task, but an essential one. Coral Jane (seashore)

Whole

Forgive my self-indulgence today - 6th August is the birthday of my baby son (who lived a very short time). Some years ago, after the break-up of my then-relationship, Julia (Overthetop1) wrote a short poem for me, connecting the two events. It's still really important to me for my daughter to live on through her writings - so here it is:

La Boisselle (Raprochement)

Overthetop1 (Julia Macpherson) This piece was written by my daughter Julia and typed up with great care. I'm afraid my own abilities are more limited, so the layout may not do it justice. However, I wanted to post it as it's highly topical, and Julia was a great student of all things connected with WW1 - in particular, the Battle of the Somme. Coral Jane (seashore)

Thank you for letting me be the first to read and comment on this piece, also huge congratulations on the 36,600 words over 12 months.

No doubt this warrants a huge crate of cherries.

So what is the next challenge? xx

You paint your paradise with

You paint your paradise with words and I like the recent use of a poem as a lead in to the journal pieces.

Crete was sold to me and my girl many years ago; now I'm back there again in spirit.

Your vast vocabulary never ceases

Things I did know and things

Posted on Tue, 03 Sep 2024

Things I did know and things I didn't - like Penka's penchant for climbing trees.

Always a pleasure to read. I too hope September will be better X

It's all good as always but

It's all good as always but like Marandina, I love the intros you've started doing.

In the Garden of Hephaestus (whatever that is) is a stand-alone gem X

Beautiful writing Terry.
You do sadness just as well as humour and with a tear in my eye I hope dear Crado is at peace somewhere.

Just got back from you-know

Posted on Sun, 21 Jul 2024

Just got back from you-know-where to find this little gem of a poem. I had to look up 'ichthyic'- never heard it before, but I like words, especially new ones.

Thank you x

I have many favourite bits

Posted on Tue, 02 Jul 2024

I have many favourite bits from this piece Terry...Crado in the wash basin (as above) being one, but possibly my favourite is Hi Risk Anus. No need to guess where my vote is NOT going.

I love that despite the recent climate induced...

Finally got round to reading

Posted on Sun, 09 Jun 2024

Finally got round to reading this Terry. You are sickeningly good with words but managed to upturn my permanent frown into something resembling a smile.

Strange that Frank Ifield's demise didn't reach the news here. Too much politics....
