I love you on the condition
That you will love me,
Respect me, cherish me
And forgive my foolishness
That you will value my honour,
My honesty and my faith
That your arms will be open
To comfort, to lend strength
And to hold me close always

I will love you on the condition
That you will be warmed by my smile
Comforted by my touch
And inspired by my words

I will love you only
If it is your will
To be loved by me
And I will love you
Only if you would love me
I will love you while there is
Friendship, trust, peace
And contentment
I will love you only if you miss me
When I am not by your side
And if you hate to let me go

I will love you
Without knowing how to express
My gratitude, my feelings
Without always knowing the right
Words, or actions or thoughts
But still I will love you,
If that is your wish

And if could not be so
That I could be loved by you
Then I would keep my love in a cold place
And never hope to love again

Forgive me, care for me, do not forget me
Let me show you how true I am

Angel, Although I wrote poetry for many years,I am not a very goood critic of the form. Poetry is a very personal means of expression that is hard for another to comment on critically.We all respond to differing stimuli.When composing a poem, I always retreated to some of the immortals(Blake, Keats, Sandburg,Frost, Byron,etc) for examples in employing "economy of expression," "verbal rhythm" and other metric cadences that give a poem its lilting beauty when read aloud. Your poem is brief and clear, and thus intelligible. The emotional feelings you place in it only gives us a glimmer of the passion surging beneath it.It is fine as is. Don't worry too much about what others think of your work.Give it your best effort, make it clear and appealing, so others understand your message. After that, who cares?You are still a writer, so keep on writing. Rock on. J.X.M
