These Empty nights.

"When nights are long and friends are few,
remember me, as I do you."
'I'll never know who wrote that wonderful sentiment.'
'Oh, these empty nights.'
The writer must have been deeply in love, as I with you.
'Oh, these empty, lonely nights.'
Now you never can return. Who will comfort me on stormy nights?
'Oh, these empty, lonely, timeless nights.'
My love for you is ever strong, and so to be, forever long.
'Oh, these empty, lonely, timeless, celibate nights.'
Now I know I can't go on. This life is not for solitary lovers.
without you to love, why live?.
You were taken from me without goodbyes; but in my sorrow I can choose.
Now, no more lonely empty nights.
Goodbye my love. Goodbye to life'..

'Goodbye my love, goodbye to life.' Sounds like a suicide note Brian. I was reassured to note it was written over 10 years ago I think when you lose someone you loved and shared your life with it can take a long while before you feel strong enough to dare to risk another heartbreak… There are a lot of recently divorced or not quite as recently bereaved men in Pattaya which is famous for its ‘nurses’ (who are usually both understanding and therapeutic) who have discovered that a little TLC was all they needed to restore their confidence. Personally, I’m not fond of Pattaya but, if like me you love the sea, then it is probably the best place to celebrate Songkran (next month’s ‘water festival’). Great if you don’t mind, good natured, epic water-pistol fights and the occasional bucket of water thrown over you in the 30C sunshine. Hi Mykle, Best wishes to you. No, not a suicide note. I pen alsorts of ideas just as they come into my mind. Some of my poetry is just plain stupid. regards.
