Rain today
and oppressive clouds steal close
sucking the light
from the windows
taking the last of summer
and promises of carefree pleasures
under a maturing sun
I long for the scent
of sun on skin once more
to lose myself in long grass
and to your desire
But the smell of autumn
hangs on the wind
foretelling of torpid days ahead
Rain today
and the seasons mists
will soon envelope me
As the hum of the last bee fades
I will find warmth
in my reminiscences
But today it rains
