Lying gets you Nowhere
Its simple and its true
The only one your fooling
When your lying's really:You.
God knows your intentions
And God can read your heart
Dont bother try'n to lie to him
Cuz Satan's bout to start.
He thrives among the lies of fools
Who only "Wanted to play"
He'll use you like a farmers Muels
Until he's had his day.
You cannot hide behind them
They wisp around like silk
But deadly are they when they rest
In Your Mind, at the bottom, like silt.
So I've gave you Fair warning
So if you turn away
You souls will all be mourning
For God will have his Day.

I liked this Yazmin. It made
I liked this Yazmin.
It made me think how I would have phrased it.
In the end I couldn't match yours -
but here is my effort:
Lying gets you nowhere
It’s simple and it’s true
The only one you’re fooling
With your lies is really - You.
No point in trying to lie to God
For He can read your heart
God knows your intentions...
When and why the lies will start.
The Devil thrives on stupid lies
From the lips of careless fools
Who only care about themselves
and have no time for rules.
You cannot hide behind your lies
They wisp around like smoke
Revealing that you hid the truth
Or claimed it was a joke.
So I give you this Fair warning
If, from the truth, you turn away
There will come a morning
When your soul will have to pay.

Don't underestimate your
Don't underestimate your work, Jaz.
My poem is essentially yours
but with slightly better punctuation :O)
What counts for me is the feelings that words engender.
Philosophers can waste our time with their useless debates and scientists can mystify us with their dubious mechanical marvels but artists can talk directly to the heart and help us realise that many of the paths we tread are leading us in the wrong direction.
God bless!
