These poems are hidden,
far away from Winter
who cracks his knuckles
like black ice.
They sleep in the bunkers
of bulbs, nestled in wombs of soil.
Buried deep within
the red earth of me.
Only the worms can hear
the tick, tick, tick of their heartbeats;
like miniature pocket watches.
Their limbs unfold like petals
and rhythm ripens into ridges
of a spine. Words
branch into fingers.
Finally bursting from their earth eggs,
birth cries echo into the vastness
of the spring sky.

Hi Magic,This reminds me of how I feel about my poetry.
'They sleep in the bunkers
of bulbs, nestled in wombs of soil.
Buried deep within
the red earth of me.'
You have Fantastically captured the essence here.
I also adored the first stanza as much.

Hi MM
I liked this lots. I love nature metaphors and these were really powerful. Great images. I liked;
'far away from Winter
who cracks his knuckles
like black ice' and the 'tick tick tick of their heartbeats'.
Some of the metaphors reminded me of Sylvia Plath, which, as you might be able to tell, is a compliment coming from me :0)
I admire your work.

Oh I like this poem. I
Oh I like this poem. I visualize those cute tiny worms of yours!! This is a really nice poem, although there's no spring here because I live in a tropical country, I still relate to your poem somehow.(^_^)====
Oh thanks for the advice. Thanks a lot! I will try to follow your suggestions. Hmmm I feel so much pressure.. Ooops ok. I will stop thinking of the pressure and the stress. LOL But I can still feel it even when I don't think of it. Hmm lol I'm confusing myself now.
Oh wow you had 18 exams!!!! my my...
You're right! A warm bath always helps, especially now that the wheather is getting colder here each day. It shouldn't even be cold at this time of the year. Hmm...
I really feel that you genuinely understand my situation, and just the thought of it comforts me. Thanks for emphatizing. I just can't tell my parents that I feel stressed with my nursing school. I don't want them to worry because they will only add much pressure to me and I already have a big pressure to last my whole life. It's really so difficult when you're an A-student, you have your scholarships to maintain, and some extracurricular activities to continue. -gasps-
I just can't voice out my concerns to my classmates because I know I can pass on my anxiety to them. Everyone just seems too busy at this time of the year, esp. now that it's the second semester. People at the College go topsy-turvy. -sighs-
I'm so thankful that I still have time to write and release some steam. I'm glad there are people like you who really listen. (((hugs)))
