When Derek was at Harvard,
Or so the story goes,
He fancied a bit of the other,
Now everybody knows.
Ruth put it on the internet you see,
So Derek’s been exposed.
She didn’t want to divide the university of course,
Or tread on anybody’s toes,
But when sex, race, gender and poetry get mixed up,
That’s the way it goes.

I really like this one,
I really like this one, Chuck. It made me laugh and the dominant/submissive contrast between each line adds to the comedic feel.
I wasn't sure whether
'Ruth put it on the internet you see,'
and
'She didn’t want to divide the university of course,'
are too long and slow down the piece though. Having more syllables works for
'But when sex, race, gender and poetry get mixed up,'
in some ways because it slows things down for the end but for me those earlier two lines might work better if they were reduced.
Not sure what you think. Either way it was a very entertaining read. :)

Haha, I know what you mean
Haha, I know what you mean about the ethical stuff. I think you picked up on the absurdity of their actions really well. Like i said, this piece really caught me and I think the pomposity of the post being fought over is gently, but very successfully ridiculed in this. :)
