You marvel at my self-control
in public, dangerous places.
I preserve a simple status quo
in the presence of unfriendly faces.
I pour my heart on the virtual page,
you reply in terse commonplaces.
We'll meet, when we can,
and my heart will run such races,
and you'll hold me, back, with a look so black
that any love will be faint, just traces.
What is it that I can say to you,
so you don't look for meaning in spaces?
What is there that I can simply do,
before our love comes down to cases?
I miss you, I want you, I love you,
what else can I write that replaces
the feelings you know, that I'll always have,
for all time, for those embraces.
