Shades of Grey

Do not judge me on black or white
grossly obese or thin.
Don’t try to judge me at all, in fact.
You will never win.

In between your judgement lines
are many shades of grey.
But even they are not set in stone.
Like water
they wash your ideas away.

How awkward must you make your life
making assumptions when you can?
No wonder you are there alone
all your friends up and ran.

You will talk to me now
about my horror on Judgement Day.
When my life is judged
on one thing I screamed;

“Screw you lot, I’m gay!”
