How sweet the sound that rises,
to sate my hungry ears;
a song of vacant glances
made glassy over years.
How delicately the notes approach,
as soft as new fresh skin;
a melody of golden lightness
to coda again and begin.
How lush this orchestration
as it brings its fruit to bear;
a glissando of heavenly measure;
the last kiss of a touching affair.
How clearly I hear these notes,
tones more like a dear old friend.
I sway along to this blind man’s song
to coda, repeat and end.
