The Silence
By Firebird
- 1441 reads
The silence
in my life is deafening,
It rips
through my grieving soul.
With relentless tranquility
it frees fear and anxiety in my mind,
I can hear my heart beat,
Pumping
life through my veins.
Eyes closed so tight
stars appear in the void,
I inhale
the calm thoughts of you
and expel my impurity.
I am so very alone
in a dark world.
My light flickers softly
with airless fragility.
I fade;
Losing the will,
Willing an end.
Each breath eases my pain
as reflections of the past
flush through my star-speckled dullness;
Reaching for me,
Grasping for consideration,
I am suffocating in the stillness,
Drowning.
Hoplessly I drag myself
back from the edge,
through the tears and the sweat,
into another day,
without you...
