Let Me Go

Let Me Go,
Stop Pulling me back into that life that was never really mine,
i don't need you,
i dont need to hurt you,
I'm not the friend you recognise in Facebook photos,
and school time memories,
she was a girl who would of clawed at the heavens and swallowed boulders,
to get what she wanted and needed,
your hardy companion,
your memories are now her only domain,
i am not her,
i am her paled shadow,
a mere physical replica,
but you shall remember me as her,
not the blemish i have become,
hold on to her fondly,
but grant me my release,
because i am no longer a girl who would fight,
i am not longer passionate or fierce,
i am now a girl willing to give up.
to let the tide of life slip through her fingers,
to wait patiently for an end,
a new start,
so let me go.
