Within the silence

there is such violence brewing,
I don't know what to say...
righteous anger dipped in silence,
the meal is not quite right.
i do not know what it means to love
anymore
but I know that God does not love us,
we are not his chosen people,
he has littered our bodies for furnaces.
just tell me once that i have something
important to say,
don't tell me I have sinned,
i am not Job,
i am not questioning your authority,
i just want to know how to get out of here.
for once, speak clearly, let me know
why i was chosen to see my race disappear,
am i a disappointed rabbi?
within this silence,
there is such hatred of you Lord,
do not
put me away.

I like the build-up of drama

I like the build-up of drama in this poem, the opening is gripping. I am not sure about the historical event within the piece, but it doesn't affect my reading of it.

Is this about the Holocaust

Is this about the Holocaust or is it based on a Bible story? (or both?)
