The loneliness, heavy despair
The sorrow,
It’s so difficult to cope.
The gloom, the misery,
melancholy, the
signs of a dashed hope.
Doctors have come
And others gone.
But the treatment, it just remains.
The buzz and the beeping
Is the constant reminder
That the nylon tubes are medical chains.
The end is close, that we know
The finishing line is strangely in sight,
But we dare not look..
The days have passed, the seasons too.
Our calendar is inked, marked
Just like a child’s school book.
We await the finale with bated breath
Real concerns and mighty challenges
From day to day.
We cannot hurry, as we pull along
Eager to encourage him,
To find his way.
