Our wonderful Daughter
The Royal Pavilion
Married there in 2002
The reception was held at
The Queen's Hotel
Registry office amazing room
hottest day of the year
now they do weddings there
One particular photo taken
in the Music room by the golden clock
I think my belated mum
day centre then sang too
the same room
Another all to-gether on the grass
where the new ice rink stands
temporary
Now we have Prince Regent
looking on
as the West Street Ice Rink years gone
Ice hocky players
at which I went at 12 years old
An archway tall says
"Royal Pavilion Ice-rink" in pink
I met a lady asked the way
Tree's that glitter
petite fairy lights on
even a grey squirrel beyond
A caf'e and the restaurant
all beautifully laid
Like a long conservatory
of green leaves hang
As the lady and I chatted
at the entrance of golden lights aglow
ended up having a cup of tea
her name "Ann Terry"
A professional Ice skater
and showed me her book I bought
and she signed
nice to meet another
Brighton ice skater
wonderful costumes on the cover
"Skating On Thin Ice
Was the title
remembered West Street Brighton
ice rink to,
names I mentioned to her
I have now read marvellous story
spins and jumps
and shows of glittering glory
different countries
hard times,good times
accidents to
My Ray took photos of barriers by the rink
that is big and wide
most wear blue boots and not white
Fantastic scenery
of domes breath taking spiers
tapered up into the blue sky
and glistening reflections
of square fluorescent
square flood lights
shining in the dark
on the Pavilion windows
An Ice tractor cleans the ice
coloured penguins
for children to glide along
It's all exquisite
what's been done
an archway says
"The Royal Pavilion ice rink
long banner in pink
The visit to The Royal Pavilion
Is worth it's money in gold
look up to the ceilings
magnificient chandeliers and dragons
stories pictures of long ago
Of which my belated mum
always told me of a sepia photo
she had of adopted Gt or Gt aunt
on her mother's side then
A beauty holding a monocle in her hand
I went along and showed mum and her man
she nearly dropped down with shock
as the picture matched all the sepia photo
from the bric-a brac shop
I lean't it to mum when she got me
go in for extras of
"Noel Cowards" play Cavalcader
Theatre Royal Brighton 1995
and mum in paper we had no experience
But wonderful Brighton I found
the cigarette card
and a postcards one photo of her
a beauty
then print in Flea market
Hubby found "look he said"
thinking he was joking!
I sent away print
and the company in Yorkshire
if good photos will put on canvas
anything animals people sceneries
they choose the colours
so I wove a rug morning till night
gave away family then as 3ft wide
and again card shop of beauties
now near "Jessops" by the clock tower
not till I could get out again
and become spiritually alert
by years going to church
Miss Croker was one of 12 children of
The Ambassador of brazil
Lady in waiting to
"Queen Victoria"
Miss (Nony)Rosamond Croker later m
Sir George Barrow of The Admiralty
once painted by Sir Thomas Lawrence
kissed on the hand by Prince Regent
d 1900
I found out ITV London I Wrote
and described as no DVD recorder then
hubby always said there she is time I
ran in kitchen gone again
ITV They wrote could be her told us of
shop to go in London
hubby and I went by train
only used in background
we showed photo London shop
he never knew who
but both pictures on the floor
Had been there 20 years
pictures leant out as
backgrounds only
all so exciting
we saw to in
"Upstairs and Downstairs
I loved to watch
and on cover book
I had bought me
Surprised to see!
Over the mantlepiece
by Lady Bellamy's photo
Miss Croker
also backgrounds of
"Yes Priminister"
and "Beau Geste"
pictures are used
backgrounds in films
No wonder I love parasol I have
now and fans and a mask
And now crinoline dress
my dream by daughter and hubby
Poem and photo here
"My late extra birthday surprise"! by post
Course I have Prince Regent book
and buy from Royal Pavilion shop
plus victorian postcards
couiple dolls cheap market
Quite a little madam
when groups in "Street Elderly"
and "Aged concern" aged over 50's
all but never used as I gradually
bought different things to use
The Prince Regent
can never! let this rink go
it's built for young and old
and even lost marvellous
Brighton Regent dance ballroom
I even bought a print of
Prince Regent and had it framed
from "The Witch and Ball"
have it on my wall
beside the wedding photo
We must keep our History
all over the world people come
to see The Royal Pavilion
Come back!

I might have a try
don't let it close
please in January

hope not bored anyone
had I asked permission to do
and told them of AbcTales etc;
If this keeps the ice rink
then it's worth doing?

a glimmer of hope,heard.?
