The sleigh only flies
in slowed down
snowed
downtime
when we have time
for logs and mulled wine
and the world can't get here
or us there
because of the risk of
slipsliding on that blueblack ice
on this back country lane
The sleigh takes us back to a pre petrol age
The sleigh is casting stars
in a sparkling snowtrail
of hail off the runners
it lands on foxprints on a sugar topped cake
a sonic boom of thunder
in its wake.

What a vivid picture you paint with your words here Camilla.
"The sleigh is casting stars

Actually, the view from my window right now, is as you describe - minus sleigh, unfortunately;-)
