THOSE GOOD OLD MOUNTAIN DREAMS

The mountain man is my muse,
uplifting me with bluegrass blues,
those good old boys they get high,
on moonshine whisky they will fly,
going away for that mountain life,
find me a hill-billy, I'll be his wife,
children playing round our shack,
chasing hogs around the back,
granny's eating berries ripe,
while grandpappy's smoking on his pipe,
cousin Jed plays on his fiddle,
while Ellie does a hoedown jiggle,
with those good old mountain boys,
we'll play our music make some noise,
only grandpappy gonna complain,
when those kids drive him insane,
he says he'll get those kids in line,
or he'll die before his time,
but granny knows just what to do,
she might be a hill-billy,
but she's no fool,
as I linger by mountain streams,
cool my feet penetrate my dreams,
that mountain man my heart he stole,
intense happiness fills my soul.
