Dockside’s smell is from
herring-bait
on lobster boats
disgorging slatted traps
where movements scuttle
in little spaces
shoreline harbour completing
a picture of bedlam
in commercial activity.
Above sheer rock of wall a frisky
wind tattooes mightily
and cabin shivers on ocean’s lip.
Inside a tired fisherman is captured
by dreams of nets to repair
buoys to paint and a backyard
in disarray with lobster
pots desperate for tarring.

I see this every day. Well
I see this every day.
Well captured, difficult to pick out a specific line, as I liked all of it.
