She opened her mind
Revealing the painful scars
We cried together
Can you still love me?
Her eyes fearful and doubting;
Self-esteem destroyed!
My lips catch her tears,
Her cheeks warm, to my response,
A small sob escapes.
I hold her, gently.
I could no more refuse her,
Than the air I breathe.
I am no hero,
Just an ordinary man;
Just a man in love!
