Days like a sweet ripe orange,
waiting for me to suck the juice from it
and snack on the fibrous pulp.
As the sun sinks into a mandarin sea,
I will squeeze the last of it
Into a vodka’d glass and swallow it down
in one boozy gulp.

I can almost taste your summer, Mark. I do hope your dreams of it keep you going over the next few months. In the meantime back here, we are all praying for that long-overdue 'barbecue summer';-)
Lovely poem.
