Open day at the Witches' Home 9/10

The witch happened to be Abigail who had hurried back from one of her journey-woman assignments to help out with the open day arrangements. She went off in search of Jennifer Jane, who had just finished taking a party round and was having a bit of a rest.
“I’ve just seen your next door neighbour Eve, coming out of the Home and walking down to your dad’s boat.
Jennifer Jane looked horrified. “She must have stowed away and arrived here with me this morning. She’s been able to follow me somehow and then found her way on board, I wonder what she’s seen?”
“Well we’ll have to do something about it,” replied Abigail, “I think the first thing to do is ask if anyone knows where she’s been, then I’ll have to decide how to go about making her forget everything.”
It didn’t take too long before Abigail found several people who’d seen Eve flying off with Esme and Dulce.
“Crumbs! If those two have been showing her round goodness only knows what she’s seen. I think I’ll have to arrange a rather drastic bump on the head for your friend, and then if she does manage to remember anything, she won’t be too sure how much of it she is imagining, because of the bump. Don’t you worry, make sure you ‘discover’ her on the boat, then go home as normal and leave the rest to me.”
Unfortunately Abigail had made two mistakes in her plans. She didn’t really know much about sailing and had cast a spell so that Eve would get her head banged by the boom on her way home. She didn’t know that the lugger didn’t have a boom, or that Jennifer Jane was planning to sail home as she had arrived using only the jib and mizzen.
Jennifer Jane didn’t know what Abigail intended and did just as she was told; Eve came out into the cockpit of Misty Magic and admired the scenery, while she spoke about all her adventures during the day.
When they came out of the fog and headed into Wilfred’s pool, Eve asked who Jennifer Jane had been speaking to, when she was getting the boat ready the day before. Jennifer Jane didn’t say a word but just pointed up to the giant.
“Golly! A real live giant in our woods, just wait until I tell Adam the news, he’ll never believe it unless he comes down here and sees for himself!”
