The jazz
In the background
Enters my
Forehead
And I
Whimsically ponder
The
Relevancy of
Foucault;
I miss Mexico City
And the
Bells
From the temple;
I miss autumn
In Guanajuato
And the
Resonance
Of the arroyo.
I think
The combination
Of caffeine
& wine
& cigarettes
Is not sitting well—
I’m through
Blaming
The moon
And the memory
Of you.

Another gem from Jose! You
Another gem from Jose! You have the sensibilities of a poet wrapped in the mindset of a short story writer. This poem says so much at so many different levels. Also, your unique voice shines through each wispy, ephemeral stanza.
