The Paradise Lounge ( How now brown cow) IP

Welcome to Paradise Lounge
I see all the regulars are in
I’ll tell you all about them
For the price of a gin
It had smoky atmosphere
Of course that is no more
And there is a polite notice
Posted on the door
The lady in the corner
In the slinky dress
Saying ‘how now brown cow’
Thinks her diction is the best
She practices nightly
Waiting for a part
An out of work actress
Crazy for her art
Old Croc is the one
You’ll find behind the bar
From his Ozzie accent
You know that he’s from afar
He’s settled here in Paradise
And though he won’t say much
For a pretty lady
He’s often an easy touch
That couple in the booth
They’re having an affair
The locals mind their business here
And they don’t really care
His wife doesn’t understand him
Her husband’s never in
Together they find solace
Is that such a sin
Never mind, let’s move on
Oh dear, she’s starting to slur
Seems ‘how now broon cow’
Has a Scottish burr
That guy at the bar
Is an accountant up the street
One of the quietest fellows
You’d ever want to meet
Now I’ve heard he gets up to things
Kinky, don’t you know
I just say - each to his own
As far as these things go
Back over in the corner
The lady in the slinky dress
Now how cow brown
Isn’t sounding the best
Over at that table
That lady is a nurse
Her boy friend wears a collar
Works up quite a thirst
Looking up at her adoringly
From his position on the floor
On that situation
It’s best to say no more
Old Croc is a smiling
Business must be good
Seems Paradise can be found
In a neighbourhood
Outside by the curb
Zipper’s in his cab
He amazes all his customers
With his gift of gab
He’s waiting for the fares
He knows will come his way
Once Paradise is closed
He’ll finally earn some pay
Oh, it’s last call back inside
Let’s get a quick one in
You’re looking quite thirsty
And I’d like another gin
It seems the cow’s no longer brown
The dress is past its prime
It’s probably just as well
That it’s closing time
I hope you’ve enjoyed
Your tour of Paradise Lounge
If you want to come again
I’ve often on the scrounge
You’ll find me at the piano
When you want to know more
Paradise can be found
By walking through that door
