I Stand Outside

I stand outside the tent.
It is my place,
where I'm meant
to be. My face
does not fit you see.
I stand outside the group
wishing I could
enter, but won't stoop,
since asking would
make much less of me.
I stand outside, the rare
bird-like odd ball
wearing too-long hair:
a rebellion small
and much too late for me.
