When I was younger
I seen the true innocence in the world
When I was younger
Everything was a beauty to behold
When I was younger
The thick snowflakes were not as cold
When I was younger
Every question was a story to be told
Now that I’m older
I’m aware of the wars, battles and fights
Now that I’m older
The sun doesn’t shine quite as bright
Now that I’m older
The stars seem further as they shine in the night
Now that I’m older
I don’t know any better in hindsight
Where has it all gone?
I want to go back in believing in everything
Remembering forgiveness and forgetting indifference
But is childhood innocence or ignorance?

Thankyou for sharing this poem that makes you think.
Jenny.

Lovely poem.
I like how the first two stanzas deal with younger and then older.
It's all a matter of perspective,no matter your age.
