The swarm on the Seine attacks its calm,
For never a more lovelier sight seen
Than you at dawn - please clock, no alarm!
The soul of my companion you have been;
Hours I have stood to watch the sun’s bright
Gleam on your back as if your perfect friend,
Caressing and complimenting delight:
Like this you speak and laugh till days light end.
I humour with the swarm that jars my mind,
Countless in number they invade my space –
But you are there, safe. Safe from the blind
Hostility of home stamping the face.
You won’t leave me, indelible your mark,
You my light my only light, the rest dark.

That's good Thewest. It scans really well and the constuction is superb. If this is what we are about to receive I for one am truly thankful.
