Lord, I don’t get it, please explain:
Why my capacity to love
is engraved so deep it aches
for people who only know: take?
Why my faith continues stronger,
as tough days are more and longer?
Why do I continue in hope,
when each day’s a battle to cope?
Why do I believe so firmly,
when it sets me aside – lonely?

I don’t get it Lord, please explain:
Why my ability to love
grows, despite the aching pain?
Why am I grateful for Your grace,
as heart-broken tears paint my face?
Why do I feel truly blessed,
when my life is nothing but stress?

I don’t get it Lord, please explain:
Where is Your joy in all this strain?
Why does my soul keep praying,
when reality has no meaning?
So where’s the border, Lord, please say,
Between believing and insane?
