Fear
P K Routray
Man and woman, rich and poor, old and young,
each of us exists in fear, immaterial whether we are weak or strong.
From the time we are conscious we are plagued by fears,
We make choices of life based on fears and accordingly we shape our careers.
Fear unless nipped in bud is natural and innate instinct of any animate for survival,,
It is hindrance to harness one’s own potential in one’s life’s battle.
There are two types of fears one is imaginary and the other is real,
One inspired by real danger and the other is harmless fear but to it we generally crumble.
The latter is more like an intense worry, a doubt,
or nervousness that paralyzes our desire to act,
Our creativity and wisdom are relegated to a back seat, hence we neither respond nor react.
As in case of six gateways to hell,
lust, anger, attachment jealousy, pride and greed,
All attempts and penances of life should also concentrate in stopping fears to breed.
