Beneath a Purple Sky

When sunset reaches deep within,
sweet music drifts like a gentle breeze,
winding down the rivers of my mind...
never knowing its reached its demise,
like ocean's swell with bated breath,
my body caresses colour...music...life,
On mountain a lonely spirit,
ever observant...breathing...
casting shadows that reveal
this ancient...watchful earth.
So I stand alone, inhaling the magic,
it lies here though distant and slight,
I remain pensive waiting for the air
to reflect my dreams, to capture the
very essence beneath a purple sky.

There's nothing like purple sky, Jenny - we've had some beautiful sunsets in Durham recently, and you capture the magic of them in this poem. Brilliantly done ;-)

To be able to remain just

To be able to remain just still and enjoy beauty without trying to edit it or change it; reveals the world’s true beauty. I remember walking quietly once, one very hot spring morning by the railway through the wild orchards in Dogwoods, Knutsford. Resting there on a storm drain grid, I was just catching my breath when minutes later. I saw a baby rabbit poke its head out of a hole in the brambles it was 2ft in front of me. It was then he or she was pushed outside by their sisters or brothers.
They rolled around and were toy fighting till the 11.20am till the Chester train went by,
The only pity was train was on time, came by so fast…
