Babies are caravans
of joy
their voices in
jubilant abandon

noises piercing
to older ears
yet a musical tome to
parents in
exuberant pride.

They wiggle and
coo knowing
something precious
is taking place

and one day a
moment will come
to hug mama
and papa
tightly with love.

Thank you so much Scratch. My inspiration was little Spencer, a sweet eight months old and we babysit him every two weeks, for dear friends more like family. I am learning a lot about little babies---patience, patience and more patience. Diaper-changing, no--no. When I married Esther 37+ years ago, she had sons Walt 13, Troy 11 and Susan 15. We adopted Scott 9, the next year and both Walt and Troy wanted me to adopt them too. Susan wanted to be only a step-daughter but she promised to have any children call me grandpa. And Travis and Matt do so. Thus I missed out on the excitement of little babies. They are really delightful little people. Ga Ga, Goo Goo. Richard ps. congratulations on your own little one.

Hi Richard, been to the states and did most of the East coast. Been to Maine, which I know isn't a million miles from you. Loved it!

Hi jolono, In 1963 I hitch-hiked from my city of Rouyn-Noranda to Vancouver AND back, a total of 6,600 miles. Rouyn-N. is 350 miles north-west of Montreal. In 1969 I drove from Toronto to Edmonton and back, probably 7,000 miles, and at that time went across the bridge at Cornwall, Ontario then across all the northern states coming up into Canada to Steinbach, Manitoba. A very nice drive. I used to do a lot of driving to see places like Niagra Falls, Canada and USA, as well as Mississippi, US and all over Ontario and then all over Nova Scotia. Now I am content to stay close to our apartment, with my wife, Esther. Richard
