I am a sailor and you are my sea
If I was a peasant you would be the gold in me
I harvest solace when you crave need
I am a fire and you are my ash
If I was a god you would be the devil in me
The pariah to your selfish needs
This desolation
This desecration
Evidence of the final hours spent winning your love
Only to find emptiness again
And a battle lost to an already bitter end

A solid reflection of who we
A solid reflection of who we become in relation to the people we are with, and a damned fine love poem too.
