Sequel to 'I'm Off'

I got on the plane and looked around,
All I could hear, to my horror, abound;
An iPhone’s clickity-click shutter sound,
I’d be tagged on Facebook before we touched down;
A boy called Freddie and his girlfriend Bridgette,
Nice enough people, but two you’d forget,
From Henley-on-Thames don’t you know, it’s the place
To be in South Oxfordshire; the home of good grace.
And those big-nosed snivellers
Were sat at the front,
Feet up on recliners
Flashing their bunts,
Off to some business meet in Bangkok
To look but not see, to buy cheaper stock.
And as I stood on the beach I’d created, I found
That reality gripped –
Dispensed the profound,
Coconut filled with a Malibu drink
Resigned to a scene of no meaning, I think,
‘cause there is only so much you may learn about
On a crowded beach with your man boobs out.
The only thing willing me into the sea;
The desire to escape again,
The desire to be free.
