Milestones

"Faster faster! there's no time to spare!
Imbibe your energy, show 'em your flair!"
Roared my bustling engine,
Preparing myself for the win!

Speeding over the road of life,
Overtaking others, I nurtured the strife!
Drenched in my sweat,striving hard,
Defeating others, laughing like a retard!

Greed was overpowering my mind,
Yearning to bask in the glory destined!
Unaware of the growing wear and tear,
To the pitstop,my engine tartly glared!

"We don’t need that", was all I heard,
Before my vision completely blurred!
There I was! Gasping for breath,
Crumbling under the feet of Death!

Echoing laughs and snarls I could sense,
Encapsulating me in a barbed fence!
When I turned towards the pitstop's side,
They welcomed me with their arms wide!

I opened my jailed eyes wide!
To the beautiful,tranquil, world outside!
How serene was the wonderful butterfly!
Fluttering merrily in the sky.

How satisfied was the poor peasant,
Thanking Nature for the lush present!
Visit here,made me smile after long!
Through my mistakes, I grew strong.

My reflection in the innocent eyes of a kid,
Made me feel guilty of what all I did!
Why was I running all this while?
Quenching my greed,mile by mile!

Fake admirers who joined my pack,
Were brewing poison,behind my back!
How foolish and lifeless I had been,
Running behind an empty dream!

My engine revived,under their care,
Preaching along to forgive and share,
The heavenly pitstop,opened my eyes!
Showed me the true insight of life.

A grateful adieu, I bid them all,
Sticking to the road's side wall,
"Move move!" growled an impatient soul,
Speeding past me,chasing it's goal!

My cheerful engine,burst out laughing!
Bustling with happiness,no longer panting,
For now I knew,life's true meaning,
You are here to LIVE,and not for the running!
